Social Issues: Rape Culture.

 

One of the major social problems troubling Pakistani society is rape culture.

The ratio of rape victims are getting doubled day by day and the fear to get raped is spreading everywhere around the country. Yes! You heard it right!! This fear is getting into the  nerves of every single woman going out for some work. But the question arises:  how did it become a nightmare for every girl in the country??

There was a time when every year, we used to hear some viral news about rape. But we couldn’t do anything for that except feeling sad, going for its campaign, and shouting out for the victim. And guess what happened next? The situation remained the same after every struggle. The news got vanished and people got busy in their lives. Some days later, viral news of some other rape story arose. But again, what happened after few days? Nothing except the repetition of the same previous process. 

What was new? Nothing.  History was repeating itself again and again and no one was doing anything to stop that culture. Nothing fruitful was coming out.

The whole the process would have kept going again and again if that motorway incident had not occurred.

That the incident shook every person, everywhere in the country. Every father started thinking of his daughter. Every husband started taking care of his wife. Every person started shouting for the victim. Even the government took bold steps in punishing the culprit. The police tried their best to find out the culprit and it succeeded.

But the point arises that motorway incident will soon be extinct from our minds in the coming days. We will get busy in our own lives and then another rape story will happen again.

So the question here is: in spite of every struggle, why this culture Is not getting eradicated from society? I guess, the answer lies inside homes. It is actually the brought up of man which is very necessary to be conducted by mothers in a Good Way. Only then, men will come to realize the after-effects of rape before being the culprits.
